Suzuki power team to best ever win
Europe’s largest fishing event, The Predator Tour 2019, has been won by Suzuki partner, Lionel Chevalier.
Lionel Chevalier and his team-mate Tristan Poulain are the first French crew to ever win Europe’s most popular and challenging fishing event. Their total winning score was also the highest ever recorded – a huge 1667.8 points.
A record 120 boats from a host of European nations competed in the 3-day event held on the Hollands Diep and Haringvliet Lakes located near Rotterdam in The Netherlands.
To win the competition, entrants have to catch three Pike, then three Zander and three Perch to complete the limit, then the longest combined length wins.
The French team proved they were worthy of claiming gold throughout the competition, as they held the lead from day 1 until the outstanding finale when they fished their card full to reach victory.
Their stunning scoreline was achieved in a newly-rigged boat, Nitro, fitted with a white DF200TL Suzuki outboard by dealer R Marine, based in Rennes.
This was the first time Lionel had competed using a Suzuki engine and its performance was impressive, achieving a maximum speed of 92 km/h, maximum speed trimmed 5950 MIN TOWERS – Skipper Lionel said “It’s the best fishing trip I have ever experienced,” Lionel said.
