Suzuki reveals more details about its class-leading new ‘High Energy Rotation’ outboard motors DF60AV and DF50AV
Suzuki has revealed more details about the technology and specification behind its new DF50AV and DF60AV ‘High Energy Rotation’ models, following the launch announcement for them which was made at the Paris boat show at the end of last year.
These new high thrust models will be based on the already popular in-line 3-cylinder, 941cc DF50A and DF60A models and also benefit from Suzuki’s Lean Burn Fuel Control technology. Both engines are incredibly lightweight and at just 114kg, the DF60AV will be the lightest in its class.
By adopting the gear case from the new DF140A, which has a 2.42:1 gear ratio, these new models will be able to use a bigger 14-inch propeller, which will help give much more thrust in both forward and reverse gear. The impressive gear ratio is bigger than similar models offered by competitors and the improvements in thrust run right the way through the entire rev range, which means that the DF50AV and DF60AV ‘High Energy Rotation’ will be perfect for powering large, heavy craft, in both the leisure and commercial sectors.
Mr Yamamoto, General Manager for Suzuki Motor Corporation’s European Marine Liaison Office said, “These two new models have been designed based on direct customer feedback and we believe that they will be an important addition to our already strong outboard range.”
The Suzuki DF50AV and DF60AV will be available to order from Suzuki dealerships across Europe from August this year.
